CLASSES FAQs
Why do we have to have our cameras on during class?
Our teachers have studied how to teach adults. Many adults don’t want to risk asking a question and so sit in silence. Our teachers have learned how to pick up facial cues and body language that reveal a student doesn’t understand. Then the teacher can review a topic or talk with the student during a break to be sure the concept is understood.
Will I receive any documentation of the class materials?
Before your class, you’ll be sent a supplement or student guide. It contains important elements from your class. We do not transmit any slides which are Walmart’s proprietary properties, but you are free to take a screenshot of anything shown in class, even Walmart slides.
Do I get any sort of certification that I’ve completed the course? My supervisor may want to see it.
Yes, after the class, you will receive an email with a Certificate of Completion. Some suppliers print them, frame them, and post them in their offices. Others post them on LinkedIn as a way of showing that they are continuing to learn and grow and that their supervisors endorse that.
Are there breaks in class?
Yes, every two hours or so. And if you need to step away from the class while it is in progress, just send your teacher a message using the CHAT option at the bottom of your Zoom screen.
What do I do if I have trouble logging in? I don’t want to miss any of the class information I’ve paid for!
A day or two before your class, we will send you a contact you can text or phone in case Zoom gives you any problems. That contact will be able to help you immediately — so you won’t miss a minute of the class.
What’s the difference between a class, a suite, and a learning bundle?
A class is a topic of prime importance to a Walmart supplier. Classes are categorized by a supplier’s general area of responsibility, such as Supply Chain, and are sold singly (one class at a time).
A suite is a group of single classes with a common theme that address the needs of a supplier. For example, Key Walmart Systems SILVER Suite includes the classes Retail Link®, Scintilla™, and Supply Chain. Suppliers working in one of these systems is likely to need to know how to function in all three of them. The price of a suite is 10% less than buying each class individually.
A learning bundle offers offers classes for individuals or an entire team. When three or more individual classes are purchased at one time, a discount of 10% to 15% is applied to the cost. Classes may be taken over the course of one year.
I am curious. Why is 8th & Walton often referred to as the gold standard of Walmart supplier education?
Several reasons. First, each of our teachers is a real subject matter expert with decades of experience with Walmart. Second, our content is updated often — in fact, whenever Walmart makes a change, we immediately change the content to match the new procedure or requirement. Third, because we offer live Zoom classes, students can ask a question and get an immediate answer. No other supplier education company can make those three claims.
