Terry Clear, Director of Replenishment and Sales Insights at 8th & Walton, discusses the benefits to suppliers of utilizing the ReviewHub Syndication Network, explaining how the partnership enables suppliers to syndicate product reviews from various platforms to Walmart.com, increasing both the quantity and credibility of review content.
Lainie: How do you see this partnership with Wholescale’s ReviewHub Syndication Network positively impacting Walmart suppliers?
Terry: It is a great way for suppliers to get more reviews on Walmart.com, as they’re already getting reviews in other locations, and through ReviewHub, they can syndicate those reviews.
That way, they’re not dependent upon a user going to Walmart.com to place a review. They can leverage the reviews they’re getting at other locations.
Lainie: That would definitely increase the number of reviews. Do you also think that because the reviews are coming through a syndication network, it might increase their credibility?
Terry: Yes. We discussed this earlier in a separate meeting. When you’re evaluating products to purchase, the number of reviews can sometimes be a contributing factor. I have one item with ten reviews, and another item with 3,000 reviews. There might be some bad ones in there, but at least it tells me a lot of people are buying this product.
Lainie: What should suppliers know about this enhanced partnership so that they can utilize these tools, the syndication network, and enhance their own branding?
Terry: They should go check out ReviewHub and sign up for the process. There is some technical work that needs to be done, but it’s pretty straightforward, and once you get set up and Walmart validation goes through, then you’ll get those reviews from the other sites that will then be migrated over to Walmart.com seamlessly.
Terry: There’s a little bit of work on the front side, but once you’re all set up, then it doesn’t matter where the review gets published, gets placed, it’s going to migrate over through this syndication to Walmart.com. I think it’s a great tool, and suppliers should absolutely use it.
