Walmart Invoices: APIS or HighRadius? — 3-Minute Insights

Confused about when to use APIS in Retail Link versus HighRadius? You’re not alone. 8th & Walton’s Heather Reid breaks down the key differences between Walmart’s Accounts Payable Inquiry System (APIS) and HighRadius, so suppliers know exactly where to go for invoice details, payments, deductions, and compliance charges.

(This is part one of a three-part series on the most common questions that 8th & Walton’s Heather Reid gets in her first meetings with suppliers.

Lainie: The supplier comes to you and says, “I’m confused about what the Accounts Payable Inquiry System does in Retail Link versus the HighRadius system. When should I be using these?”

Heather: Absolutely. I hear this in every accounting training session I do. I want to start with HighRadius. HighRadius is Walmart’s accounts receivable system, which is used to invoice a supplier. It houses invoices generated by Walmart’s accounts receivable team. That can include additional marketing funds, compliance fines, special sponsorship programs like Walmart Connect, and even Scintilla charter charges. So anytime Walmart needs to invoice us, that’s where you would go.

You’ll go to HighRadius—it’s outside of Retail Link, it has a different login, and it’s easy to get access for people in your company. That’s where you would go for those items.

The APIS system, the Accounts Payable Inquiry System, is where you’ll mostly see your own invoices. That’s where we’re invoicing Walmart for product shipped. If I want to see whether they paid my invoice in full or what my checks were, I can download that in APIS within Retail Link. So it’s really based more on my own invoices.

You will see some receivables come over from HighRadius where they do a deduction against a future remittance. Those invoices will show up there. But anytime you need to research your own invoice, you’ll use APIS. Anytime you need to research a Walmart invoice, you’ll use HighRadius.
