Description
The Wal-Mart supplier community in Northwest Arkansas has expanded significantly since suppliers began moving into the area in the early 1990s. Obviously being in close proximity to the world’s largest retailer has its benefits and suppliers have eagerly taken advantage of this opportunity. But the supplier community has also evolved from what it was in the 1990s and there is a marked difference between good supplier companies and great supplier companies.
Mistakes have been made but lessons have been learned. Cameron Smith explains why suppliers have made the decision to open offices in Northwest Arkansas, the challenges involved in getting the right employees to relocate to the area, and the difference it makes in their business with Wal-Mart. Listen in for Cameron’s unique advice for both junior and senior level supplier positions.
