Since the inception of Supply Chain Reliability in early 2010, Walmart has collected hundreds of thousands of dollars in “cost reimbursements” from the Supplier community. With the recent addition of Sam's Club to the program, nearly every aspect of the supplier network is being monitored for compliance. Because Supply Chain Reliability is unique among retailers and requires very different skills from other Supply Chain measures, suppliers are need to learn and adapt quickly or risk significant financial penalty.
